Charlie’s Angels

< Back to News

Franchise reboot “Charlie’s Angels”, directed by Elizabeth Banks, is filled with action, mystery, fun, and empowering friendship. As part of Brian Tyler’s team, I was able to witness the creation of the score first-hand and arrange some of the cues myself. Brian crafted the music to feel “nostalgic yet fresh” while also giving the occasional nod to the theme from the original TV series. To accomplish this, the score is made up of various styles mixing symphonic music with hip hop and 70s groove elements. Once the score was written, we were off to the Newman Scoring Stage at Fox for 3 days of recording with the Hollywood Studio Symphony. Recording live musicians at the scoring stage is my favorite part of the film scoring process; it’s the point at which your score truly comes alive thanks to the stellar musicianship of the world’s most talented players. The Charlie’s Angels recording session was no different and I can’t wait for the world to hear this thrilling original score!
